Mississippi was one of the large slave’s states in the 18th century with many 1000 rich cotton planters along the river Mississippi and inland. In the American Civil War lost those over 30.000 men. From the American Civil War until World War II, Mississippi, like many other southern states, suffered economic hardship. Today is still the farmer the largest incomes for Mississippi with cotton, rice, soybeans, poultry, cattle and dairy products. Food processing is of course a large industry because Mississippi is a very important and large farmer state in U.S. On the industry side is electrical machinery, apparel, furniture, lumber and wood products and transportation equipment the largest for the state. Casino and truism has been more and more important also.
