YouTube allows users to leave comments on video clips, which is natural because it is a social site. The problem with letting anyone post comments is that it published a lot of junk, and among these are some dangerous things. Panda Security announces that it has measured up to nearly 5000 films on YouTube that have comments with links to sites that spread dangerous code.

“This technique of using harmful comments on YouTube is not a new phenomenon in itself. What is alarming is the huge amount of infected links that lead to one and same webpage. We believe that the cyber criminals use of an automated tool to do this,” says Panda Security in Sweden.

The Comments containing usually links to what look like pornographic website. When the user clicks through to the site, must he download a special video player to watch porno films. Of course, there is no player that can be downloaded. Instead, is there PrivacyCenter, a fake antivirus.

PrivateCenter will then scan through the user’s computer, it purports to be a legitimate antivirus program, and they find a lot bugs, cookies and virus. The threats are totally fabricated to fool the now infected user to pay a registration fee as required, so “viruses” can be removed. This type of fake security software called scareware.

So don’t download anything you don’t know what it is to 100%.
