<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">Many have wondering what Twitter make money on and how the popular site can survive. The answer is that they are not making money. But according to Twitter themselves, has they plenty of money in the bank and long-term investors with good patience. So they work peacefully and calmly with a business plan to find income opportunities.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">The most logical method of financing is of course ads, but that has Twitter said no to. It will not be placing ads on their users&#8217; micro-blogs; Twitter believes that the disadvantages are greater than the benefits. It simply makes too little money compared to how much criticism it is expected that such would generate.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">Instead, it seems inclined to start up some form of payment accounts. Maybe can some certain percentage of users get to pay a membership fee for access to new and better features? I would guess that this is where they have to start looking. But I do not think you can block ads totally. I think there are a few; quite successful Twitter’s who would like to be able to place ads on their micro-blogs. Perhaps it is an opportunity that will be given on Twitter offers of payment accounts?</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">Right now seems they take it easy at Twitter and it does not seem to be a clear plan of how to finance the site in the future. They need to create some form of income, before the investors&#8217; money is running out.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">“It’s not tough for us because we have a lot of money in the bank and patient investors [and a] patient board,” said Stone during the interview in Twitter’s San Francisco offices. “We want to focus on this before profit. If we focus on profit, then we take people away from focusing on features.”</span></em></p>
<p><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">More about Twitter: <a href="http://www.sundream-estate.com/blog/2009/05/06/60-percent-leave-twitter-within-a-month/"><span style="color: #993300;">60 procent leave Twitter within a month.</span></a><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><a href="http://www.sundream-estate.com/blog/2009/05/06/60-percent-leave-twitter-within-a-month/"><span style="color: #993300;"> </span></a><span style="color: #993300;"> </span></span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><span style="color: #ff9900;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p>
