Malaga Airport

Malaga Airport is at the present time the fourth busiest airport in Spain, and it handling over an astonishing 12 million passengers in 2004. 3 terminals at Malaga Airport.

Terminal 1 at Malaga Airport, also called B, is the smallest and it is connected to Terminal 2 and has information desk, money changing place, magazine shop, café, and restaurants.

The Cargo Terminal at Malaga Airport which has four cold storage rooms, an area for hazardous materials, areas for live animals and vaults for valuables. This unit has 16 docking bays for unloading vehicles.

Malaga arrival and departure terminals.

Malaga airport terminal 2, also called A, is the largest and it has two floors with separate entrances from the street. The lower floor is just for arrivals and the second floor for departures.
The arrivals terminal has 24 arrival gates and 8 baggage pick-up belts and has the airport information desks, banks, a nice bars/cafés and a kiosk with local and international magazines and tobaccos.

The departures terminal on the second floor is huge and has 65 check-in desks, 24 boarding gates and 14 walkways .You can also find airport information desk and the most of the flights company and travels agencies represents and where you can book flights, pick up tickets and buy last minutes tickets to good prices. Café, restaurant, magazine shop and money changer is also there.

Shops, bars and restaurants.

On the second floor in the departure terminal you will find a large commercial area with over 20 shops for you to enjoy while you waiting to depart. There are many duty free shops including a large store that carry wine, liqueur, perfumes, cosmetics tobaccos and cigarettes. You will enjoy all the various shops where you can purchase other items such as food and wine, toys, sports, ladies fashion, designer labels, gifts, decorative household goods, music, videos, DVD, accessories, books, magazines, calendars, posters, electrical gadgets. Malaga airport is a great place to shop for any occasion whether you are buying gifts for friends or for yourself, your choice is endless to the exciting and unique products you can find.

Malaga Airport also has 9 rest points and a wide area of cafes, bars, fast-food and restaurants, bank cash points, Post Office, post boxes, postal and Internet services for passengers, baby/parent room, medical service pharmacy and children's play ground.

Exhibition of art.

The exhibition of art hall is a great place to spend your spare time or to enjoy the wonderful exhibits that are changed on a monthly basis. The artwork is displayed and created by wonderful Andalucian´s artists that are soon to be famous artist throughout the entire region. The exhibit is open from 10.00 – 13.30 and 17.00 -21.00.
As you can see, Malaga Airport has so much to offer besides being a place to board or depart from an airplane.

Malaga airport car parking.

If you are coming to pick up friends or leaving Malaga on business or are going to visit family, it is required that you must park your car, Malaga offers reasonable prices on parking. You would use the long term parking if you are going to be gone for more than two days.

Long term parking is just a short ride away from the airport, you can choose from over six different companies, depending on how long you will be gone and whether or not you want covered parking. The price varies on selection.

Short term parking is available at the Malaga Airport; with direct access to Arrival and departures terminal and it cost 0.60 Euros for the first hour—use the short term for dropping off or picking up friends or family.

Airbus A-380 and Malaga airport.
Malaga airport are today too small for the new Airbus A-380, so they have large plans for expansion. A new longer and wider runway for the huge Airbus A-380 and a new terminal 4, so the totally capacity for Malaga airport can bee 20 millions passages a year. The new terminal and runway are under construction already.
