Estepona.
Estepona was a traditional small Andalucia’s fishing port, situated between Marbella and Gibraltar, just at the foot of the Sierra Bermeja Mountains. Sheltered from the cold northern winds and created a mild climate all the year round. Estepona has growing up to one of the most important tourist towns on Costa del Sol with a fantastic Marina, magnificent beaches, excellent golf courses, new lovely developments, luxurious four and five Star hotels and delicate restaurants. But, Estepona has managed to preserve its peaceful town atmosphere around the old town in traditional Andalucia style of architecture, balconies with flower pots and whitewashed houses there older folks are sitting and charting outside their front doors in the evening, notice the passers-by at they have done for years.
Estepona Marina.
Estepona has a wonderful marina, Estepona Puerto Deportivo; it is situated near the centre of the town, at the west end of the lovely palm-lined Paseo Maritemo (seafront promenade). It was build in 1977 and 1994 was The Fishing Port and Marina honoured as the first Marina in Andalucia to get the Blue Flag for quality and the highest environmental standards. The Marina has 443 moorings for boats yachts from 8 to 35 meters long and they offer you the service of shower, WC, meteorological, water, electricity, workshops, cranes, dry marina, marines and passport services.
It is a harmonic place to walk around, looking at the yachts and boats visit same of the many bars, pubs or restaurants and enjoy the marina. In the evening you have large range of bars, tapas places and excellent restaurants to choose between. The fish restaurants are a recommendation with there speciality seafood.
In the summer, when the night falls, after midnight come the port really alive and a lot of thing to do. Numerous bars, discothèques, karaoke and night clubs seem to come from nowhere. Most of them are for the young and energetic. You will be amazed to see the very young and the very old dancing the traditional Andalucian´s Sevillana well into the early hours of the morning, very early.

Estepona is the fastest growing and most popular area on Costa del Sol. The town hall has given building permit to construct over 50.000 apartments, townhouses and villas in Estepona. Beaches.
Estepona is know for is superb beaches. The 21 kilometres long beautiful coast line has totally 17 different sandy beaches to enjoy everybody. The beaches offer you a ideally for the whole family, with it fantastic and extremely clan and safe water where the beaches are gentle slope in the sea and make it to paradises for the children families. At the beaches you can find Jet Ski, wind and kite surf, kayaking, parasailing, volleyball, snorkelling, scuba diving etc. On all of the beaches there is always lovely chiringuitos (Spanish beachside bar and fish restaurant) with seafood, paellas, salads and BBQ.
La Rada Beach; It is one of the most popular beaches, it has 2300 meter of white sand and is gently slope in the sea, many chiringuitos and bars to relax and take sun.
El Cristo Beach; The children favourite, 1300 meters long beach to dig sand castles in, perfect for sunbathers. It has lovely chiringuitos and bars.
Punta de Playa; Excellent beach, 4000 meter long, the Spanish and residents favourite for walking in the water or relax with a book in a hammock.
Costa Natura Beach; the nudist beach in Arroyo Vaquero, located to the east of the town at km 151. Only for members, but temporary membership is available.

Food and enjoyment in Estepona.
Estepona is a typical Spanish fish town with the traditional tapas bars, bodegas and restaurants. But, what a good meal thy served you, there speciality is gazpacho soup, boquerones, paella, seafood, barbecued sardines, salt-baked fish, grilled fish, jamon Serrano, cheeses. You will find many small traditional tapas bars and bodegas in the old town, they are friendly and cheep. On the Paseo Maritemo and on the beaches there is all the lovely Spanish chiringuitos, small and romantic with gorgeous sea food. The most of the international restaurants and special those for fish are located in the Marina. Estepona Puerto Deportivo. The night life with all bars, discothèques, clubs etc. Everything is in the Marina.
Selwo and Sierra Bermeja
The town hall wants Estepona nature growing gently in harmony with the tourism on the beaches and on the golf courses. Selwo; A African Safari Park, build on a 100 hectares area with over 2.000 animals. A fantastic nature Park in the middle of Estepona. It takes you a whole day to look at everything. You are going to love it. The Sierra Bermeja is officially a protected “Natural area” and it the greatest part of Estepona municipality. The highest peak is Pico de los Reales at 1.449 meters. The whole area is important ecological interest. In is filled with a species of fir tree, the pinsapo. Make a picnic and drive up in the mountains and listen to the birds and see the breast taking view over the coast, Gibraltar and over to Africa.
