Coin Malaga
Coin.
Coin is one of the more traditional Spanish towns inland with a huge history and a lot of monuments from the previous cultures. Situated in the southern part of the Guadalhorce valley region, in a lovely green farmer area, stretches from Alpujata Mountain with masses of pines and cork oaks around all the mountains and with a gently slope done to the river Guadalhorce, where the landscape of the lower elevations is dominated by orchards and gardens. Coin has a population of 20.000 people and it has become more and more popular with many people looking to move to the campo, this is all possible thanks to the new roads being built around and through the town, only twenty minutes from Marbella and the shopping centre La Cañada, also 25 minutes from Fuengirola, 20 minutes from Benalmadena and only 30 minutes from Malaga international airport and Malaga Town.
It is a perfect place to live the Spanish way where the time doesn’t seem to go by.
Coin population.
There are not as many British living in Coin as other inland towns and villages although they are plenty tourist living around the area out in the campo. Business wise is the same only a handful of British businesses dotted around the area, unlike Alhaurin el Grande for example which is thriving with British enterprises. There are a few British bars and a couple restaurants, a furniture shop, a DVD rental shop, a clothed shop and that’s about it, really it’s a safe bet to say that over the coming months and years this area will start to attract more and more foreign entrepreneurs.
Living in Coin campo
The campo is different throughout, and if living out in the sticks but not too far from civilisation is your cup of tea then the area around Coin could be ideal for you. In any direction you can disappear into pockets of peaceful countryside and tranquil areas where you can buy your dream country property or fincas. And like most areas inland, compared to the coast you can get a lot more for your money although they are rising sharply.
Traditional Shops in Coin.
It has been said that the people of this area have been more resistant of foreigners and maybe this is a reason why the town itself is not so populated with Experts. However, the town has many modern amenities which cater for the growing population; including supermarket, banks, medical clinics, schools, vets, bus services and there are also traditional local street market and small shops dotted around the side street.
New shops in Coin.
This is a town on the move though and when all said and done, whether the Spanish like it or not it is growing rapidly with industrial areas popping up all over the place and with the recent La Trocha development this town is going forward. Such confidence is there that this is a town on the march that supermarket giant Dunnes Stores have recently opened their newest store here. There is also a multi cinema and new supermarkets such as Mercadona are being built as we speak. The centre of town itself is pretty cramped in the traditional Spanish style and this is a reasonable explanation as to why most of the development has to be on the outskirts of the town.
Sports in Coin.
Coin can offer you a lot of leisure activities if you are an outdoors person and really want to be close to nature, it has many golf courses in the area, such as the beautiful Alhaurin Golf, horse-riding, rock climbing, hiking and mountains biking, etc. are available as local vicinity.
